david castle is not a newcomer to music or the record business. Growing up in the South, castle, the youngest son of a minister and a schoolteacher, was around music and began playing the piano at the age of three. His professional music career began with a move to Hollywood at age 21. With experiences ranging from touring with The Monkees to conducting the London Royal Philharmonic and appearing live in the U.K. on BBC's Top of the Pops to over 14 million viewers, castle has long been a well seasoned writer and performer.

During the 1970's, as a young staff songwriter for United Artists Music Publishing, castle's songs were recorded by Helen Reddy (for which he received a gold record), The Lettermen, Bobby Vinton, Marilyn McCoo, and many others. In 1977 castle released his debut album, "Castle in the Sky," as the launching artist on Parachute Records, a subsidiary label of Casablanca Records and Filmworks. In 1978, he placed a song in the Academy Award-winning film "Midnight Express" and was nominated for a Grammy for Album of Best Original Score Written for a Motion Picture or TV Special. His second album, "Love You Forever," was released in 1979.

david castle's new single, "I See The Clouds Go By," released June 5, 2012, is his first single release since 2006. This ballad takes the listener on a journey exploring one's feelings about making romantic choices.

We all have the innate capacity to rise above our lives in a reflective state of mind and see where we are, where we've been, and where we're going in our lives. In these thoughtful moments we ask ourselves if we made the right choice, the wrong choice, and explore every aspect of what relationships have meant to us by connecting with our spirit-self. Ultimately, in "I See The Clouds Go By" david's thoughtful lyric and beautiful, heartfelt vocals bring us to resolution, to blessing and releasing the situation, being at peace with, and at one with one's romantic life in a positive way.

Just after david castle recorded this song and had sent it to the manufacturing factory, his friend, Davy Jones, passed away suddenly. Davy's passing was devastating to castle, as he toured with Dolenz, Jones, Boyce & Hart "The Great Golden Hits Of The Monkees" tour in the mid-seventies, and so he decided to dedicate this single to the memory of Davy Jones. And david castle is donating a portion of the royalties from this record to the American Heart Association, in honor and in memory of Davy Jones.

Here's what music business luminaries are saying about this new smash hit david castle recording:

"Absolutely gorgeous! It's Lennonesque and has a wonderful retro feel....I love it!"
